In a tribal colony of about 200 people in the village of Jangum Gudem, there are about 50 destitute children in need of immediate sponsorship ($20 US / month). They are in need of food, clean water, clothing, education and medical care. In addition, there is a need for a multi-use community center where the people get together to for food distribution and worship center.
The residents of this village belong to the Yanadhi tribe. The parents are field laborers. Their job is to catch rats, snakes and other poisonous animals from the fields and woods. This is a menial job in the sight of Hindus. They are restricted to do this work - there is no other work that they can do. These people are landlesslaborers who work for a daily wage. The rats are roasted over an open fire and eaten as food.
They live in thatched hogans and mud houses and are under the poverty line. For them it is hard to get regular meals. The tribe's members are being reduced generation after generation because of poverty, disease, and heathen practices.
There is a big problem with alcoholism amongst the fathers in this village. Often it is the women who work the fields and provide for the family.
Through this partnership, you will be able to help some of the neediest children in the world physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Project Information
Through this project you have the opportunity to make a tremendous difference for the Kingdom of God. We are partnering with Pastor Joseph Raju from St. Paul's Educational & Welfare Association. Pastor Joseph ministers to this village every other week and helps mentor the local pastor of this small church pictured below.
In this area, most people are animist, which means they believe that a soul or spirit exists in every object, even if it is inanimate.
People worship these stones (Creation rather than Creator)
Pastor Joseph has been sharing the gospel door-to-door and holding prayer and worship services in this village. They have already seen five families accept Christ and be baptized. Through your sponsorship, you can help equip these pastors to lead these people to Christ, and can encourage the children and their families in their faith through your correspondence.
